KCPS was the dream project of its Founder Chairman Shri Sudershan Mahajan and started functioning on April 1, 1997 as a primary school. It got affiliated to the CBSE in 2002. Adopting a holistic approach towards education from the very beginning, it grew by leaps and bounds as one of the leading private schools in J&K. It is the only school in J&K as a global member school of the Round Square -- a worldwide association of about 250 elite schools.
